3rd ANNUAL CHORAL MASTER CLASSES
with Anna Teagarden & Family
Spring 2021

Singing is good for the mind and body. It is a stress reducer and it brings joy. Two things which are of key importance during these difficult times. MISD doesn’t offer choir classes, therefore this is a important opportunity to teach children about the powerful tool they possess with their own voice. Returning for the 3rd time, Anna Teagarden is director of children’s music at St. Paul’s in Houston and a professional singer. She has a Master’s degree in Voice from the University of Texas Austin, and travels throughout the U.S. and Europe singing in choral assembles. Her style and love of teaching music to children is transformative. Marfa Live Arts will bring Teagarden to Marfa to teach an in-school singing workshop during February 2021.
One parent said of the first year’s Singing Workshop, “I just wanted to thank you for all that you do but especially for the choir program and Mrs. Teagarden. She inspired a lifelong love of singing in these children and definitely improved their confidence, self-esteem and courage to belt out when they feel the urge.”
